Slide Projector? Does anyone know where I could find a ray diagram for a slide projector and/or overhead projector. how do i put slides off a slide projector on to a computer? i have medical slides which are used in a slide projector but there are so many of them i would like them in a more compact form like compact disc on hard disc of a computer, any ideas? Kainoa replied: "Scan them using slide adapter, I have an HP Scanjet 3970 and it works great."
gp4rts replied: "You need a scanner. Epson makes some excellent units, and they are not expensive." What shall i do that i can use my photo negatives on a Slide-projector ? I am wondering what shall i do that i can show my regular photo negatives with a Slide-Projector ? can i do it myself or i have to ask where i get my photo film processed to do it for me ?
and how expensive is it per slide/roll/... ?
(sorry, i have no idea about this. i just saw it somewhere and i found it very cool showing photos on wall ) Sarahsmama replied: "I think you have to take to a photograpy store like Wolf Camera or someone that specializes in this and has the proper equipment."
remy replied: "take your negs in and you just check the box on the envelope that says color slides it isn't exp." Are there any companies still making slide projector accessories? I have a number of slide projectors still in regular use, but am running out of wired remote controls that have the manual focus function (as well as the slide advancement). I'm wondering if there are still companies out there selling them, specifically an online retailer for Canadian customers. Thanks.
Bare in mind I'm talking about old mechanical 35mm slide projectors. An example would be the Kodak Ektagraphic III. Light Knight replied: "What are the makes and models?
There may be some. Here is one." I have an antique slide projector, I want to know what it's worth? This slide projector is a TDC Vivid Headliner 300, Model 325. I am not sure of what year it was made in, or what it is worth. It is in excellent condition, still works (as I tested it tonight with some old family slides). I no longer need it in the house, and I want to sell it at my next yard sale, but I want to make sure I am asking the right price for it's worth. The only thing that might be wrong with it, is that sometimes the slides get jammed, and it gets very warm, so it needs to be used in a well-ventilated room to prevent burns. the_cinema_lover replied: "I don't think slide projectors are worth much anymore since everything is going digital. I would check ebay or craigslist for current prices of slide projectors before you sell; if it can be sold..." How can I make an optical slide projector using a combination of convex lenses? What should be the focal length of the two lenses. If I have a convex lens of focal length 50mm and another of focal length 300mm, which one should I use to magnify the image of the slide? Dr. R replied: "Backlight the slide with a lamp and put the lens a bit over 1 FL (50 mm vs 300 mm) from the slide on the other side. If the lens diameters are comparable, the sorter wavelength will capture a larger percentage of the lamp light, so try it first. If not, use the one with the lowest F-number (FL/diameter). The longer FL, though, will project the image further (for a given size screen).
You can play with more efficient backlighting using the 50 mm lens between the bulb and slide, but it's not critical if you use a compact and close bulb. Compact flat filament halogens like the (12 V) Osram FCR are the most efficient." Does anyone know if you can use a slide projector with a laptop to do a powerpoint presentation? I need to do a powerpoint presentation on to the projector screen from my laptop and have an old slide projector and was not sure if this could work or if i have to buy a new projector? BALLISTIK replied: "You need one with either a USB cord or a monitor-like cord..."
redunicorn replied: "No you need a computer projector. The slide projectors have to have physical slides.
Computer projectors are pricey. You could try renting one or see if the location you are doing this has one you could borrow."
fivetoze replied: "er no... an PC projector is a wholly different thing to an old 35mm projector..."
chuckbaker11 replied: "When you say slide projector I am assuming you mean the old film slide projectors where the slides fit into a tray on top of the projector?
If this is the case then you won't be able to use this type of projector with a computer.
Those old projectors were only designed to show those slides and they have no video inputs to plug into." Where can I buy a bulb for an old Hanimax Rondette Slide Projector? I have tried looking online but just cant find one it is for my elderley Mums projector with all her memories on can anyone help. richard_beckham2001 replied: "http://www.oldtimercameras.com/faqs/contact.asp
Try contacting the above link they might be able to tell you."

Good luck!" Why do you put slides upside down in a slide projector to see them right side up? A) A convex lens in the projector bends the light waves.
B) A concave lens in the projector bends the light waves.
C) A convex mirror in the projector reflects the light waves. lazycrazy replied: "C"
steven c replied: "C, think of looking at your reflection in a metal spoon, you're image upside down."
jaggie_c replied: "It's B. It has to first converge the image into the project before it projects."
Sabrina S replied: "It's called "The Lens Effect" which is what happens when you look through any type of magnifying lens - that is to say that the image is 'flipped'.
You can see this by using a standard magnifying glass, a lamp and a flat uniform surface. As you bring the magnifying glass closer to the flat surface you will start to see the image of the lamp, when you finally get it into focus you will see that the lamp is upside down." How does a slide projector work ? i don't know, someone help? Ego replied: "Slides are photographic images printed on transparent celluloid strips. Shine a light through the slide to project the image on the wall. Technically, the colors on the slide absorb all colors of light, except the visual one, so only that color will shine through."
Marianna replied: ".....Yes, and then there is a lens in the front which changes a 35mm slide into a 1 sqmeter picture, some 2 meters away. That's why the lamp needs to be very strong, because the light will be "spread" about 30-fold.
And then there is, of course, the mechanics, which "grabs" one slide, places it between the lamp and the lens, puts it back, makes the carousel turn by one step, grabs the next slide, and so on..." |
